David Maus Toyota and Chevrolet Host 5th Graders From Engelwood Elementary
Posted May 31st, 2011 by NicoleLast week the David Maus CARE Program hosted a field trip for the 5th grade students from Engelwood Elementary at the David Maus Toyota and David Maus Chevrolet locations. The students and teachers had a fun-filled day of listening to David Maus speak, asking David Maus questions, touring the Toyota Service Department, Body Shop, the Chevrolet Service Department and getting the chance to get up close to a couple vehicles.
During the speaking presentation, David Maus talked to the students about the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people, doing the right thing when nobody is watching, and going the extra mile in everything you do by putting in an additional 15 minutes in anything and everything. The students enjoyed the opportunity to ask David Maus questions that ranged from “What was your 1st job?” to “How do I become as successful as you?” The students and teachers left the presentation feeling very inspired to make a positive impact in their lives.
The 85 5th grade students were divided into 5 groups for the tours, learning about the different career opportunities we have to offer. During the tour, the students were able to speak to service technicians, service writers, parts managers, body shop collision technicians, and sales representatives.
The students’ favorite part of the field trip was the chance to see new cars up close – what 5th grader wouldn’t love the chance to see a brand new car?! At David Maus Toyota the students got to see an FJ Cruiser and a lifted Tacoma while learning about the different options each had to offer. The hit cars at David Maus Chevrolet were the Corvette and Camaro – of course they loved the American muscle cars.
As you can see, all the students and everybody involved had a great time! Thank you to all the 5th grade students, parents, teachers, and administration at Engelwood Elementary School for a fun and successful day!
